We would like to announce that the LINEE Network of Excellence latest newsletter is now available. It is focused on the project's thematic area of the project "Language and Economy" and can be downloaded directly on the LINEE website.
LINEE Conference Dubrovnik: Extended submission deadline

LINEE final conference: New Challenges for Multilingualism in Europe - Dubrovnik (HR), April 11-15, 2010.
The conference brings together academics representing a range of disciplines in humanities and social sciences, practitioners and EU/national policy makers, concerned with multilingualism and linguistic diversity in Europe. Proposals are invited for original and previously unpublished research papers that broadly fall within the following themes and topics: Language, Culture and Identity, Language Policy and Planning, Multilingualism and Education, Language and Economy. Abstract must be in English, but conference contributions can be in any European language (there will be no translation).
The REVISED abstract submission deadline for individual papers is October 31, 2009.

Call for paper - New Challenges for Multilingualism in Europe

The conference "New Challenges for Multilingualism in Europe", organised by the LINEE Network of excellence and hosted by the Institute for Anthropological Research of Zagreb will take place in Dubrovnik, Croatia, on 11-15 April 2010.
The conference is now open for contributions. The abstract submission deadline for individual papers is 1 October 2009. Abstracts should be written in English, while oral presentations can be made in any of the European languages. (No translation services will be provided.)
DYLAN will collaborate with LINEE in the organisation of this event. Moreover, DYLAN WP4 Manager François Grin is member of the scientific board of this conference.

LINEE, the European linguistic Network of Excellence has published his third periodic newsletter, which is downloadable directly at the LINEE website.
DYLAN and LINEE, two main actors in European research on multilingulism, collaborate closely in the preparation of joint recommendations to the European Commission in terms of both future research and policies. Moreover, PhD student exchanges take place between the two projects.
